Before assuming his position as CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association, David Stevens was the assistant secretary for housing and federal housing commissioner at HUD. He has also held senior management positions at Wells Fargo, Freddie Mac and World Savings. Dave is known inside the beltway as a key housing influential, serving as an industry authority on major mortgage finance legislative and regulatory issues. He is often quoted in national media on issues affecting the mortgage and housing markets. Dave has been named to Bloomberg’s "50 Most Powerful People in Real Estate” list and twice recognized as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders."
